I grew up with a dark room in the house.

To others my grandpap was a bread man, but when I was a kid he developed photos. Pre-digital era, I took polaroids, carried disposable cameras, and recorded video on tape. As an adult, I picked up mirrorless & cinema cameras to more artfully capture subjects.

What have I learned?

Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em

Find the moment, embrace it, and work with what you’ve got.

Ask for directions

Getting to new places means walking a different path.

Muscle through

Take the long way. Deal with the bug bites. It’s worth it over there.

Be still

Settle in and watch the world present itself.

Discomfort > doubt

Remain true to self even when it pisses people off.

Keep smiling

It’s easy to take everything way too seriously.

Drop in or fall in

Failing is easy. Don’t make it certain. Commit with 100%.
